Harissa Hummus

How many of you all have tried this @kartago_harissa? Have you heard of harissa before? Let me know below. This is now going to be a staple in my kitchen. It gives a rich flavor with a nice touch of heat. You can’t compare it to just adding hot sauce or cayenne pepper……it’s not even close to the depth of flavor harissa provides. If you are not familiar, this harissa is a mixture of sun-dried and smoked red pepper, garlic, spices, and salt.

A few ways to try it include:
✅In soups
✅In noodle dishes
✅In rice dishes
✅In condiments
I made a simple hummus with it, and it is delicious! Even the kiddos enjoyed it! 😁 We like to dip, celery, cucumbers, carrots, or crackers in it, and hummus is also great with a salad.

4 cups garbanzo beans
1 cup water
1/4 cup plus 2 Tbsp Tahini- If you have a sesame seed allergy simply leave this out.
1/4 cup plus 1 Tbsp harissa
1 clove garlic, minced
1 lemon
1 tsp salt
2 Tbsp olive oil
1 Tbsp paprika
1 tsp cumin

Directions: Add all ingredients to a food processor or blender and blend until smooth.
